THE HARVESTER 2018

THE HARVESTER 2018

Now that you want to stay seated in the new cab, there’s also room for a new hydraulic cutting table tilt adjustment. From the cabin, it can all be changed electrically-hydraulically from -6 – +6 degrees, which has previously been manually.

New Holland rises to the challenges of the times

A growing challenge with the ever wider and wider cutting tables is to get the material distributed properly across the entire cutting table width. New Holland wanted to overcome this by, among other things, fitting a new crop spreader to the machine, which would have the capacity to spread the material out to 45 feet. The revolutions of the chopping rotor have been increased from 3,500 to 4,000 and the spreading wings themselves in New Holland’s OptiSpread have been given V-shaped throwing wings as well as a more enclosed housing, and a reduction in revolutions from 800 to 600 revolutions per minute. Here’s where it gets interesting, because New Holland has found that the material will be spread more widely and evenly at the lower speeds of the spreader vanes. The theory may be a little sceptical, but in practice this has actually worked wonders for the spread. In addition, it has reduced fuel consumption, and New Holland says that on the new straw chopper with spreader wings, the reduction equates to 15 kilowatts of engine power compared to before.

BETTER HARVEST QUALITY THAN EVER BEFORE

The CR Series combines have been designed with precision farming features in mind. Yield information is constantly updated and displayed on the IntelliView™ IV screen. This data can be stored, downloaded and analysed with the precision farming software, PLM® Connect telematics, to create accurate yield maps. It can be used to fine-tune fertilisers and sprays to increase yields and keep costs to a minimum. The New Holland moisture sensor measures the moisture content of the grain in real time. Samples are taken every 30 seconds and the data is sent to the IntelliView™ IV screen. The operator is constantly updated and can adjust the machine parameters accordingly.

The New Holland Precision Yield Sensor is now both renowned and notorious for being best in class. This is of course also included on the New Holland 2018 harvester. The sensor generates a very accurate yield measurement, regardless of the variety or moisture content of the kernels, and only one calibration is performed each season.

Twin Pitch Plus rotor technology can improve your capacity in high humidity conditions by up to 10%. The optional Dynamic Feed Roll™, with integrated dynamic stone protection, has improved the already impressive capacity by up to 10%, increasing crop flow to the rotors and reducing the amount of broken grains. CR only stops if you do.

The gentle yet incredibly efficient Twin Rotor™ technology delivers unrivalled grain and straw quality. Broken cores are a thing of the past with the lowest percentage in the industry as low as 0.1%. Dynamic Feed Roll™ technology ensures the most effective stone protection during harvesting and the new serrated carriers are even gentler on the straw. The Opti-Clean™ solar box delivers the cleanest finished product.

The 14,500 litre tank on the CR9.90 and CR10.90 can hold 16% more grain than the previous model. The filling auger distributes the grain more evenly in the tank than before.

GOOD FOR THE WALLET

ECOBlue™ SCR Tier 4A compliance technology fitted to the CR7.90 and CR8.80 will significantly reduce your operating costs by lowering fuel consumption by up to 10%. All other CR models are equipped with industry-leading ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR technology for compliance with even higher Tier 4B environmental requirements and retain the efficiency that New Holland has come to take for granted in a CR combine.
Combined with the long service intervals of 600 hours and the SmartTrax™ system that reduces ground pressure, you keep more of the money in your pocket.
